Moldova beaten by England

Moldova’s national football team suffered a 4-0 defeat to England’s squad at the Wembley Stadium in London. It was a match of the 2014 World Cup preliminaries, IPN reports.

The first goal was scored in the 12th minute. Towards the end of the first half, the score was 3-0. Moldova didn’t manage to create occasions for scoring. The final score was set at the beginning of the second half, with the goals being scored by Steven Gerrard, Rickie Lambert and Danny Welbeck (two times).

Thus, Moldova remained on fifth place in group H, while England climbed to the top. In the other matches of the group, Ukraine beat San Marino 9-0, while Poland drew 1-1 with Montenegro. In group H, Montenegro ranks second, while Ukraine third.

Moldova will play the next games of the 2014 World Cup preliminaries on October 11, against Saint Marino at home, and on October 15, against Montenegro away.
