The road accidents that result in insignificant damage will be documented according to a simplified procedure of amicable ascertainment. Parliament on November 8 adopted a bill to amend the legislation in this regard after giving it a final reading, IPN reports.
The procedure will be applied only if two motor vehicles will be involved in the accident and there will be no casualties and damage to property and if the vehicle owners have civil liability insurance policy or the Green Card certificate of insurance, agree to solve the problem by amicable ways and are able to take pictures of the place of the accident or to record the data of witnesses.
The form “Amicable accident ascertainment” will be designed by the National Commission for Financial Markets. The insured driver will inform the insurer that issued the civil liability insurance policy or the Green Card certificate of insurance about the accident and the intention to apply amicable ascertainment. The drivers will put down the data of witnesses, will take pictures of the place of the accident, license plates and damaged parts of the vehicles, braking traces and fragments at the place and will present the filled in form signed by both of the drivers to the insurer within two working days.
The new provisions will take effect in six months of their publication in the Official Gazette, while in the cases of accidents involving motor vehicles whose owners or users have the Green Card certificate of insurance in 24 months of the publication.
