A minor boy went missing after the raft on which he travelled on the Nistru together with five adults and another minor boy fell apart under the pressure of water currents near the Dubăsari Hydroelectric Plant. The police in Dubăsari were alerted by a woman.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Dubăsari Police Inspectorate Elena Băetrău said the raft was made by hand. Near the water portals of the plant, two of which were opened, the raft didn’t resist the pressure and fell apart. The persons who were on it fell into the water. Six persons went out, while a boy cannot be found.
A team of the Criuleni Exceptional Situations Division is performing searches at the scene. The whereabouts of the minor are not yet known.
