The military equipment belonging to the National Army is returning from the training centers to the sites of permanent deployment, upon the completion of the 2022 Fire Shield exercise. The Ministry of Defense calls on members of the public to keep calm and refrain from sharing images online so as to avoid the emergence of fake news.
“Please do not panic when you see, over the next few days, military vehicles belonging to the National Army moving on the national roads and do not share the images online to avoid the emergence of fake news”, the Ministry said in a press release.
Recently, the Ministry warned the citizens regarding videos distributed online showing the movement of military equipment belonging to the US Army on national roads. According to the Ministry, the footage was accompanied by “provocative messages that aimed to create panic and disinformation among the population”.
The 2022 Fire Shield exercise took place during September 12-23. It is part of the training plan of the National Army for this year. The exercise has been an annual event since 2015.
