The senior authorities of Moldova will lay flowers to the monument to Stephan the Great and to the Grieving Mother monument of Eternity Memorial Complex on Thursday morning. The action is part of the program of activities dedicated to the Republic’s Day organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Info-Prim Neo reports. The festivity to open the Republic’s Day will take place in the Great National Assembly Square starting at 10.00. It will be followed by the Independence Cup – 2009 rally. Between 10.30 and 13.00, the Ministry of Education and Youth will carry out recreational activities for children. Music lovers are invited to a musical program themed “My Motherland” starting at 11.00. The sports program “The Country’s Brave Men” will follow afterward. The musical-choreographic program “Moldova – My Native Land” involving artistic groups of national minorities will start in the Great National Assembly Square at 13.00. The military orchestras will give recitals between 14.00 and 15.30. A concert of patriotic music titled “Moldova – My Homeland” involving laureates of the National Pop Music Contest will follow next. The thematic spectacle dedicated to the Republic’s Day will start at 17.00, followed by a pop music concert and a recital by the folk music orchestra “Folclor”. A choreographic performance by the National Academic Folk Dances Group "Joc” will take place between 19.00 and 20.00. Afterward, the national folk music orchestra “Lautarii” will hold a folk music concert. The festivities will culminate with fireworks at 21.00 and a pop music concert. The folk music orchestra of the Advahov brothers will perform from 22.00 to 23.00.
