"Today, on the National Day of Culture, we bow in front of those who, through their talent, dedication and work, carry on the cultural heritage of our people. It is the day we celebrate not only the artistic, literary, and intellectual values that define us as a nation, but also the people who create, preserve and promote them,” said Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan, who issued a message on the occasion of the National Day of Culture, IPN reports.

The minister noted that this day, marked in memory of the national poet Mihai Eminescu, is an opportunity to reflect on the unifying force of culture: "Regardless of the times, culture remains the most authentic expression of our identity. Through it, we continue to affirm our values, dialogue with the world and contribute to the universal heritage,” said Sergiu Prodan.

"Thank you, dear people of culture, for the noble mission that you carry out with passion and professionalism. Through art, literature, music, theater, cinema and all other forms of creative expression, you provide inspiration, meaning and beauty in our lives".

The official noted that the Ministry of Culture remains close to the people of culture, with the desire to support cultural initiatives and to ensure a framework conducive to the development of creation and the promotion of authentic values.

"Together, we can make the cultural wealth of the Republic of Moldova more visible, more appreciated and better protected. Thank you for the dedication and talent with which you ennoble this country," said Sergiu Prodan.

The National Day of Culture was instituted in April 2012 and aims to promote national culture, authentic cultural values, as well as artistic personalities in the field of culture. Today it is also marked the 175th anniversary of the birth of the Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu.
