The changes must be made for the people, not for the interests of particular groups. This is the reaction of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development to the open letter addressed by the Employers' Association of Motor Transport Operators (APOTA), which enumerates the problems faced by the transport sector. Minister Vladimir Bolea said he is going to meet with the carriers, IPN reports.

"On Friday, I will meet with representatives of carriers for clarifications so that we can identify the best solutions for modern public transport oriented to the needs of the people. Our interest remains the same – the comfort and safety of citizens," said Vladimir Bolea.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development noted that it will continue to modernize public transport to make it safer, more accessible and more comfortable.

"Modern buses and minibuses, mandatory issuing of tickets for all trips, the possibility to buy tickets electronically, but also the reduction of bureaucracy for operators and the elimination of artificial barriers that favored monopolies” are among the priorities announced by the Ministry.

The Employers' Association of Motor Transport Operators reported problems in the field of transport and addressed an open letter to Prime Minister Dorin Recean, stressing that the road transport sector continues to be destroyed and, if measures are not taken, the carriers will have to resort to protests.
