Adrian Efros has announced his resignation from the position of Minister of Internal Affairs, IPN reports.
"Together with the team at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, we faced challenging times: the war at the border, the migrant crisis, and other critical situations that tested the safety and stability of the country. Through courage, solidarity, and hard work, we managed to ensure the citizens’ peace and maintain a climate of stability," Adrian Efros said in a Facebook post.
Efros emphasized that he remains committed to the Republic of Moldova and its citizens.
The resignation announcement comes ahead of this evening's press conference, during which Prime Minister Dorin Recean is expected to announce a cabinet reshuffle. Media reports suggest that Adrian Efros is set to be replaced by Daniella Misail-Nichitin, currently a state secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Adrian Efros was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs in July 2023.
