Milsami Orhei amazingly defeated Bulgaria’s champion Ludogorets 1-0 away in the first-leg match of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. The only goal was scored by Alexandru Antoniuc in the 41st minute, IPN reports.

Milsami won on the field where Liverpool, Basel and Steaua didn’t manage to win the previous season of the Champions League. Moldova’s champion could have won by 2-0, but the new entrant Cristian Bud missed two important occasions for scoring. “Ludogorets remains the favorite. We won the first match because we played in an organized way,” Milsami coach Iurie Osipenco told a news conference. “It’s not a problem for us. We can win in Orhei. We missed many occasions in the first match. We didn’t take the chance,” said the coach of Ludogorets Bruno Ribeiro.

The return game between Milsami and Ludogorets will be played in Orhei on July 21, starting at 6pm.
