“Mihail Kogalniceanu” Center becomes museum

The National Center of Literary Studies and Museography “Mihail Kogalniceanu” that is situated on 31 August St will be renamed the National Museum of Literature “Mihail Kogalniceanu” and will be managed by the Ministry of Culture from January 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Culture Boris Focsa said that the Center hasn’t been financed from the state budget since 2004. The lack of specialists in the field – museographers and restorers – negatively affected the preservation of the Center’s works of art. The Center can resume work only if it’s transferred to the Ministry of Culture and transformed into a museum. The staff of the National Center of Literary Studies and Museography “Mihail Kogalniceanu” have collected and preserved over 100 patrimonial objects.
