Some support Moldova and encourage the restoration of its economy and the rule of law, while others attack and destroy. Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stressed the importance of clearly distinguishing between the country’s allies and those who do not want the country to prosper. “This was clearly expressed in the new national security strategy, where Russia is clearly indicated as a main threat to the national security of the Republic of Moldova,” Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi said at a press club meeting, where he summed up the results of the first four months of his tenure. He noted that during this period, he made a number of visits to Romania and this points to the extremely close relations with Romania, which is also reflected in its consistent support. In addition to visits to European states, a whole series of international agreements, documents of major importance for economic, political relations and for the diaspora were finalized and prepared for signature, the official stressed, being quoted by IPN.

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi said that Moldova has good relations with all the Western partners, including Romania, Ukraine, France, Germany, the European Union, the United States. In the case of Russia, the relations are at the lowest level in the last 30 years due to the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, the daily killing of children, women, old women, the constant attacks on Ukrainian localities. Likewise, the Russian Federation has supported separatism in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova for over 30 years, fueled various groups in the Republic of Moldova, which have undermined stability, the rule of law.

“Despite all efforts to destabilize, to worsen the situation in the Republic of Moldova, we will continue to take all steps to preserve not only peace and stability in the Republic of Moldova, but also to maintain this ascending pace of development of our country, anchoring in the free world, continuing important reforms in our country,” said Mihai Popșoi, underlining the importance of continuing an open dialogue with the citizens. The official believes that only in this way can the propaganda walls that have been built for decades be destroyed.

“We hope very much that the law enforcement institutions of the Republic of Moldova will act more and more firmly to eliminate this threat, the impunity enjoyed by some so-called politicians who, being far from the Republic of Moldova, pump financial resources here to destabilize the situation, to make us deviate from our course of European integration, to corrupt voters, to create protests. You know very well all these more classical measures and hybrid ways, including the use of modern technologies to influence and thwart the natural course of the Republic of Moldova. We firmly trust that the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, along with the state institutions, will know how to make the right choice when it comes to the referendum we will have on October 20,” said the minister.
