Unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea said he anticipated that Igor Dodon will defect from the PCRM. “Mister Dodon was marginalized, even ridiculed in recent times. I expected that his group will detach itself. He has ambitions and future plans and his move was predictable,” Mihai Godea stated for Info-Prim Neo.
The MP said it is rumored that Igor Dodon struggled for the leadership of the PCRM. “He probably understood that only death changes the leaders in communism,” stressed Mihai Godea.
He reminded that he earlier informed public opinion about the existence of persons in the Communist Party, who are ready to contribute to overcoming the political crisis. “Today’s move confirmed this, but these are not the only members of the PCRM who understand and think,” said Mihai Godea.
He also said that the ruling alliance can already have the votes needed to elect the head of state, but it depends on the results of the discussions.
On Friday, November 4, three Communist lawmakers – Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramchuc – left the PCRM, arguing that they offer a solution to the political crisis and are ready to give their votes for an apolitical candidate, who forms part of no alliance or political organization, has the necessary abilities and is respected in Moldova and abroad.
