The chairman of the Liberal Party (PL) Mihai Ghimpu wants the negotiations on the formation of a government coalition in the PDM-PLDM-PL format to be resumed. He made such a statement in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
The leader of the PL said the party he heads wants to take part in governance. “I think there is yet time for negotiations and for forming a majority pro-European coalition. This is what the people want and the adviser to the German Chancellor came yesterday to Chisinau not accidently,” he stated.
Mihai Ghimpu made it clear that this is the condition for voting for the Leanca Government. “Voting for a Government means taking part in governance. Why should we assume responsibility for a government if we do not have at least one goalkeeper there?” he asked.
The Liberal leader also said he will insist on the more active involvement of the European partners in the implementation of reforms in Moldova. ”We need the Europeans to come and do what they should, not only to suggest,” stated Mihai Ghimpu.
Today, February 4, the candidate for premiership Iurie Leanca will hold consultations with representatives of the Liberal Party and the Party of Communists and will try to secure their support for the new Government.
