The chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu was excluded from the Standing Bureau of the legislative body. A bill to this effect was passed by Parliament on December 13, on the initiative of the leader of the group of Liberal reformers Ion Hadarca, IPN reports.
Parliament accepted also the Liberal-Democrats’ amendment to reduce the numerical composition of the Standing Bureau from 14 to 13. Thus, no other person will be named instead of Mihai Ghimpu.
“It is a struggle against the Liberal Party,” said Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu. At his request, the votes for this bill were counted. As many as 44 MPs of the 87 attending voted in favor of excluding Mihai Ghimpu from the Standing Bureau and of reducing the Bureau’s numerical composition.
