Mihai Ghimpu's cousin Vladimir Ghimp accuses the Acting President and Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca of intending to deprive him of 1.5 ares of land. In a news conference on Thursday, Vladimir Ghimp said his family received the land under a decision by the Colonita local council of 1992, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihai Ghimpu's cousin said that as a result of a verbal agreement with Mihai Ghimpu's father, the close relatives were allowed to set up a crossing from Vladimir Ghimp's plot to the plot of Mihai Ghimpu's parents located nearby. Three-four years ago, the relatives of Vladimir Ghimp told him that the crossing is in fact part of their land, not of Vladimir Ghimp's land. “They asked by legal means to be offered ownership rights over the access road that they used several times a year. These persons, who consider themselves legal heirs - Mihai Ghimpu, and Lucian and Dorin Chirtoaca – often influenced the decision makers of the Colonita mayor's office and council,” said Radu Busila, the lawyer for the Ghimp family. According to Busila, the council's decision of May this year to review Vladimir Ghimp's ownership certificate of 1992 was influenced by the legal heirs. Under this decision, the certificate contained mistakes and 1.5 areas of Vladimir Ghimp's plot were to be transferred to the families of Ghimpu and Chirtoaca. The Ghimp family said they submitted an application to the Colonita local council, asking examining the issue concerning Vladimir Ghimp's land and annulling the decision of May this year, by which Vladimir Ghimp is deprived of 1.5 ares. The council is to give an answer within 30 days. Radu Busila said the legal heirs Lucian and Dorin Chirtoaca as well as Mihai Ghimpu do not have ownership certificates and thus do not have reasons for claiming something. He also said that he did not accept the case of the Ghimp family because of political reasons, he being an ally of the Christian Democratic People's Party (PPCD). At the same time, Vladimir Ghimp confessed he was advised to go to the PPCD president Iurie Rosca and ask him to recommend a lawyer for him. “Unfortunately, this is how my cousin is. He is never satisfied with what he has,” Mihai Ghimpu commented on the accsuations made agaisnst him, adding he is not contended with having such a relative.
