The Chisinau-based National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” was awarded twice at the Comedy Festival in Galati. The vaudeville comedy “Do you have something to declare?”, directed by Petru Hadarca and played by the Theater’s troupe, was named the best play at the National Comedy Festival 2016 in Romania. Also, actor and emeritus artist Ghenadie Galca won the award for the best male supporting part for the role of Camille in this play.

The comedy “Do you have something to declare?” was premiered in Chisinau in April. “It is a classical comedy produced in accordance with all canons of the genre. It has coherent text that ennobles the sustained pace of the play,” Doina Papp, jury member, critic, theater historian, publicist and member of UNITER (Theater Union of Romania), said about the winning play.

The 28th festival of the kind was held during November 5-13.
