No Moldovan was hurt in the vegetation fires that engulfed Greece’s Rhodes island, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI). The institution published the phone numbers of Moldova’s Embassy in Athens, which the Moldovan citizens can use, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry, the Greek authorities ordered to evacuate the citizens from the region, while firefighters are struggling to contain the blaze.
The Moldovan authorities recommend the Moldovans to avoid travelling to the fire-stricken areas, while those who in those areas should contact the Embassy.

The foreign press reported that thousands of people have been evacuated from houses and hotels on Rhodes after vegetation fires engulfed a large part of the island, being amplified by the high winds amidst an extreme heatwave hit Europe.
