The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration is advising Moldovan citizens against traveling to the Russian regions that share a border with Ukraine. The travel warning comes after the Wagner mercenary group announced an insurrection against the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Moldovans who are already in these regions are urged to leave them as soon as possible.

On Saturday morning, the head of the Wagner mercenary group Yevgeny Prigozhin released a statement against the Ministry of Defense in Moscow and announced that his troops had taken control of the military headquarters in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don. Several columns including tanks are allegedly headed for Moscow. An anti-terror regime has been introduced in the city of Moscow and the oblasts of Moscow and Voronezh.
