The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) strongly disapproves of the statements made by Nikolai Patrushev, adviser to the President of Russia, who said that "the anti-Russian policy pursued by Chisinau will lead to the disintegration of Moldova". According to the institution, such statements represent inadmissible interference in the internal affairs of the Republic of Moldova and aim to destabilize the region, IPN reports.

"The Republic of Moldova is a sovereign state that is firmly committed to the path of democracy and European integration, according to the will of its citizens. The Republic of Moldova will continue to defend its interests firmly, through peaceful means and constructive dialogue, based on respect for sovereignty and the principles of international law," the MFA noted.

Nikolai Patrushev anticipated in statements that Chisinau's anti-Russian policy will lead to Moldova's disintegration. According to the Russian official, "the energy crisis, which Moldova allowed to occur due to pressure exerted by Brussels, was the first signal in this regard."
