Employees of the State Weather Service joined the protests mounted in front of the Parliament Building by teachers, farmers and other employees. They ask for the authorities' support for decent salaries and respect for the work they do, IPN reports.
"Today we came here together to demand what we deserve - the right to a dignified life," said meteorologists attending the protest.
They noted that they work intensely "for the safety of citizens and for the benefit of Moldova's economy," but that the salaries they receive are "below the level necessary to survive the crisis and price increases."
"We want to be part of the solution, not of the problem," said the weather forecasters, adding that they are willing to have a dialogue in order to achieve a real change and better working conditions.
