The situation in the Republic of Moldova is worsening. The political instability led to economic instability and it is those who voted for the Cabinet to be dismissed who are to blame for this, Romanian MEP Siegfried Muresan says in a message published on a social networking site. The MEP notes that the Republic Moldova rapidly needs a credible pro-European government, IPN reports.

“The citizens of the Republic of Moldova started to feel the irresponsibility of the politicians from Chisinau in their pocket and in the daily life. A report by the National Bank of Moldova published recently shows that the direct investments made by non-residents in Moldova’s economy decreased by 3.9% by September 30, 2015, going beyond the level of 2012,” wrote the MEP.

According to him, the decline in investments leads to the creation of a lower number of workplaces tomorrow and to smaller contributions paid into the budget. Thus, the pensions of the elderly, the salaries of the young generation and child allowances will be in danger.

“We repeatedly warned during 2015 that the political instability in the Republic of Moldova will lead to economic instability. Those who generated the political inability by destroying the Cabinet are to blame,” reads the message.

Siegfried Muresan underlined that the Republic of Moldova swiftly needs a credible pro-European government. “For Moldova, as for Romania, the prosperity derives from the relationship with the European Union. Only a Government that will bring Moldova closer to Europe is good for Moldova,” he stated.

Moldova’s Cabinet led by Lib-Dem Valeriu Strelet was dismissed on October 29. The post of Prime Minister is now claimed both by the Liberal Democratic Party and the Democratic Party. A new candidate for premiership is to be fielded on January 11-12 after the investiture of Ion Sturza failed. If a new Cabinet is not voted in by January 29, Parliament will be dissolved and early legislative elections will be called.
