Three men were arrested on suspicion that they robbed a currency exchange facility in Durlești town. The individuals stole the safe with different currencies inside and fled in an unknown direction. The extent of the damage was estimated at 1 million lei, IPN reports.
According to the police, the suspects, aged between 22 and 31, committed the theft in November 2024. The men, residing in the Ialoveni district, damaged the door and entered the currency exchange facility in Durlești at night. Subsequently, the suspects were identified, located and detained for 30 days.
After conducting searches at the homes of the three individuals, the police found money, whose origin is to be established.
A criminal case was started for theft in particularly large proportions. The men face 5 to 10 years in jail.
