The Parliament commission for culture, science, education, youth, sports and means of mass media announced the holding of a contest to select the members of the Audiovisual Coordinating Council (CCA).
The documents of the candidates running for the function of member of the council need to be handed in by October 10, 2006. The candidates have to present a personal file: a Curriculum Vitae and a reference-recommendation.
According to the Audiovisual Code (CA), validated on August 18, CCA contains 9 members designated by the Parliament. The candidates will be nominated by NGOs, foundations, syndicate associations, entrepreneurs associations and religious cults. The candidates will be selected by the profile and judicial commission and will then be proposed to the Parliament for confirmation. The candidates can be confirmed with the vote of at least three fifths of the total number of MPs.
According to the CA, anyone can run for the function of member of the CCA as long as they have a university degree and at least 5 years experience in the field of the audiovisual, communication technologies, law, finance, accounting, management, and programme or information elaboration in any creation institution. Other conditions are that the person has to have an age between 25 and the legal retirement age; has to know the state language; and have no criminal record.
The structure of the CCA is to be constituted within 2 months from the validation of the Code, which means by October 18.
