Members of Shor Party have protested near the Presidential Palace this morning. They came with placards saying “Maia Sandu, go away!”, “Leave us alone!”, “Maia Sandu, goodbye!”, IPN reports.

“I’m against dictatorship. I’m not interested in any party but I’m against dictatorship. They should not tell me how to think, if I should go in Europe or not,” said one of the protesters. He also said that the prices grew, but such things do not depend rather on the Government or the President as inflation is high everywhere in the world.

Another participant in the event said the current administration does nothing for the pensioners. “A person goes to the market to buy something, but returns with the bag half full. Last year the situation wasn’t better. It is now the same or even worse,” said the man, who complained that he needs to maintain his family.

Shor Party is featured in a criminal case started over its alleged illegal financing. MP Marina Tauber and other members of the party were arrested. According to prosecutors, the party consciously accepted money from a criminal group. The money was used for party interests, to pay for artistic performances and for the mounted protests. Representatives of the party say the opposition is this way being pressed.
