Medical commission for applicants for presidency remained the same

The composition of the medical commission for examining the state of health of the applicants for the post of President remained the same as for the earlier presidential elections and is headed by Sergiu Ungureanu, the chairman of the special commission for organizing the March 16 elections Tudor Deliu has told Info-Prim Neo. Deliu said that nobody asked for information about the necessary set of documents and nobody filed applications by Friday (3pm). Today and tomorrow the commission will work from 2pm until 5pm, while next Monday, when it is the deadline for submissions, from 8am until 5pm. The leaders of the ruling alliance said they will make public the name of the candidate for the presidency in the near future. According to press reports, the possible candidates are constitutional judge Victor Puscasu and chairman of the Supreme Council of Magistrates Nicolae Timofti. The Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said the candidate is a woman, but not Veronica Bacalu, who was put forward by the other two member parties of the alliance.
