The Independent Journalism Center (CJI) has released a ranking of the most credible media institutions in Moldova: Nokta.md, Agora.md, Moldova1.md, Zdg.md, Newsmaker.md, and Ipn.md. In total, 40 news portals were assessed by CJI on the Media Radar platform, IPN reports.

The main evaluation criteria include transparency, the quality of journalism practiced, and compliance with the Journalistic Code of Ethics.

According to CJI's executive director, Nadine Gogu, many portals have limited themselves to republishing official press releases without providing additional context, which affects the diversity and balance of sources. Additionally, some websites continued to promote political interests, raising concerns about the impartiality of their content, the expert emphasized.

The lowest scores in the ranking were obtained by Paranteze.md, Breakingnews.md, and Md.kp.media.

CJI's monitoring was based on samples of political, social, and economic news published in February. The portals were evaluated according to several criteria, including the display of editorial team information, declared editorial policies, and website accessibility.

CJI has been conducting these evaluations every six months since October 2020 to help the public better navigate the information landscape and identify trustworthy sources. The monitoring was carried out as part of the "Advancing Information and Media Literacy in Moldova" project, supported by IMS.
