The Journalistic Investigations Center is conducting a media campaign titled “Journalists – Children΄s Friends” with the assistance of Unicef. The campaign is aimed at encouraging the mass media to address issues concerning the violation of children΄s rights. It is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The team of the Journalistic Investigations Center will permanently provide information, documents and contacts to the journalists interested in this topic in order to facilitate their work and offer the people materials of a high quality that can impact the decision makers and contribute to the change of the mentality in the society,” said the Center΄s head Cornelia Cozonac. A jurist and experts of different children΄s rights protection NGOs have been hired to answer journalists΄ questions and offer expert advice. There will be organized field trips and the journalists will be provided with units of transport. Cornelia Cozonac said that the campaign will enable the journalists to communicate between them, exchange opinions and experience, set up teams for investigations, help each other in writing stories about children΄s rights. The campaign “Journalists – Children΄s Friends” will continue until November this year.
