The border police of Moldova and Romania approved a series of measures in anticipation of an increased flow of persons and units of transport on the Moldovan-Romanian border crossing points. The necessity of maximally synchronizing and coordinating the activities to fluidize crossborder traffic was decided in connection with the Moldovans’ mini-vacation of May 6-9 and the European Moldova National Assembly set for May 21, IPN reports.
The Moldovan-Romanian authorities approved the supplementing of the number of frontline inspection officers and of special equipment. The infrastructure of crossborder points will be maximally used and the “Reverse flow” procedure will be applied if necessary. Also, the families with small children and the persons with special needs will be given priority when crossing the state border. The situation will be monitored permanently according to the area of competence and the accumulation of relevant information for taking pro-active measures to fluidize transport and passenger traffic, stated the Border Police.
The authorities recommend the participants in crossborder traffic to check the period of validity and status of the travel documents used to cross the state border and to use all the existing border crossing points so as not to cause congestion at some of them and to avoid the formation of lines.
The travellers are urged to consult the Online Transfer application on the Border Police’s website so as to know in real time the situation at border crossing points and to show understanding, patience and discipline, taking into account the rules of crossing the state border.
