Mayor’s office employees cause damage of over 190,000 lei to budget

The civil servants of a mayor’s office in Stefan-Voda district are suspected of facilitating in 2010- 2011 the illegal extraction and sale of sand from a quarry opened without authorization near the village, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Ministry of the Interior, the damage caused to the budget was estimated at 190,000 lei. Legal action was taken against the suspects over violation of the subsoil protection rules and misuse of power. They face a fine 3 000 to 16 000 lei or imprisonment of up to three years.
