The mayor of Cricova town of Chisinau municipality Victor Slobozianu has come under the scrutiny of the National Integrity Authority (NIA). The institution ordered an examination of the mayor's assets and personal interests, IPN reports.
Thus, after analyzing the information in the submitted statements, the integrity inspector identified irregularities in the declaration of assets and personal interests by the mayor and his concubine.
It goes to patrimonial changes. Specifically, while being subjects of declaration, the two supposedly acquired a number of movable and immovable assets. According to the NIA, the incurred costs can be determined only by examining the wealth and personal interests.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, Victor Slobozianu said that on Monday he was notified of the initiation of an inspection against him, but he does not know exactly what this refers to. According to him, the NIA has only to exercise its duties and he is ready to present the requested documents. He will eventually make other comments when the inspection is over.
Two other examination procedures involve a former judge of the Chisinau Court and a mayor in Călărași district.
