Former Communist MP Mark Tkachuk, who is a member of the executive committee of the Common Action – Civic Congress Party, said the party he represents will start to plead for snap parliamentary elections immediately after it is registered. According to him, the current developments in Parliament are inadmissible and the state of affairs should be changed, IPN reports.
Mark Tkachuk stated it is enough as the people saw how some of the politicians struggled against the “oligarchic power” and now cooperate with this. “The people do not have time to watch this soap opera till the end,” the politician was quoted by IPN as saying in the TV8 talk show “Natalia Morari’s Politics”.
He noted the party does not yet have political partners, but these will be identified in discussions on global issues concerning Moldovan society that will be launched by the Common Action – Civic Congress Party.
Mark Tkachuk said about 5,000 applications to join the party have been received so far and there were formed 18 district organizations. “Our party is about a new agenda that is known by the whole society, except for the political class. The political class has dealt with simulation for a very long time. The politicians lean either towards the East or towards the West, confirm their devotion to rights and principles (...), but the real agenda of the country consists in the fact that the population of the Republic of Moldova is dying and the number of employees will be equal to that of pensioners in five years,” he stated.
According to the politician, the party for now does not have a lot of money, but is easily accumulating funds. “When we are registered, this financial support will be proven publicly. We would like to collect funds by the same crowdfunding instruments as those used by the Action and Solidarity Party. These are very innovational and we like them,” said Tkachuk, noting the party actually does not need a lot of money as its political economy is not very costly. He added that there are businessmen among the current backers of the party.
The congress to constitute the Common Action – Civic Congress Party was held on December 8.
