MP Marina Tauber said the decision to exclude independent candidate Arina Korshikova from the electoral competition is shameful. She accused the administration of the Balti District Electoral Council of incompetence, saying that the decision will be challenged by all legal ways, IPN reports.
Marina Tauber noted that Arina Korshikova, who is supported by the team of Ilan Shor, was registered as an election contender and after she reached the runoffs, the government decided to exclude her from the competition. This decision shows the government’s wish to subdue the residents of Balti. The Balti Council’s decision will be challenged by all legal ways and also civically.
According to the preliminary data, Our Party’s candidate Alexandr Petkov polled 22.69% of the vote, while independent candidate Arina Korshikova – 21.52%. As Arina Korshikova was excluded, Alexandr Petkov in the runoff vote will contend against the Party of Socialists’ candidate Maxim Moroșan, who won 19.73% of the ballot.
