A march of young people in support of Moldova’s European course will be held in Chisinau on June 1. This was announced by MP Eugeniu Sinchevici, who stated that 13 youth organizations have already signed up. “These days history is being written. A referendum that will decide the fate of this country will take place on October 20. We encourage young people to take part in writing this history”, the legislator said during in a press conference outside Parliament.

Eugeniu Sinchevici declared that the vast majority of young people in Moldova support European integration. “It’s good to see how many of us we really are and show everyone else how many we are. We want to draw attention to ourselves. Such marches are good for starting a discussion, for people to analyze what the preferences of this country are. And it is good that absolutely everyone who will go to vote on October 20 and will have in front of them the choice between a prosperous and European future of the Republic of Moldova or remaining in a neutral area, or rather affiliated to the east, it is good for everyone to understand that the majority of the young people of this country support European integration”, the parliamentarian also said.

Attending the event, MEP Siegfried Mureșan mentioned that on October 20 the referendum for European integration will take place and it is very important that until then all citizens are correctly informed about the opportunities that the EU brings. “Let’s tell people what the European Union is, what advantages it brings for them. Let’s tell people that the European Union is a project of peace, it’s a project based on freedom”, noted the MEP.

“On June 1, when International Children's Day is marked, we think about ourselves, but also about the future generation of citizens of the Republic of Moldova, about young people. And we know that the best thing we can do today for the future of the Republic of Moldova, for the young people of the Republic of Moldova and for the children of Moldova is to integrate the Republic of Moldova into the European Union”, said Siegfried Mureșan.

The march will start at 10:30 a.m., in the square of the UNIC store, and the participants will head to the Parliament building, where they will deliver speeches.
