A 32-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after, in February 2016, along with two other men, he robbed a jewelry store on Ștefan cel Mare Boulevard. They stole 21 gold chains worth more than 185 thousand lei.
According to the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases, the robbers entered the shop during working hours while wearing medicinal masks on their faces and armed with a gun and a hammer. The perpetrators threatened the employees, broke the showcase and stole the gold chains.
The 32-year-old was detained in July 2019 and agreed to a plea bargain, requesting that the case be examined in a simplified procedure. He was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months of detention, with the punishment of imprisonment in a closed type prison.
The other two perpetrators were convicted at an earlier date.
