A man aged 20 from Dubăsari district was arrested on suspicion that he planned the murder of a Czech businessmen who runs a business in Moldova. The suspect worked for the Czech entrepreneur and this didn’t pay him for his work. The young man was arrested in a square in Chisinau where he was to meet with the victim.
Press officer of the General Police Inspectorate Mariana Bețivu has told IPN that the young man started to be followed by the police this January, as a result of a denouncement. He planned to murder his ex-employer and then to take his car and golden jewels. Several days before the arrest, the man went to the market to purchase gloves and stockings for using them as a balaclava.
The suspect was arrested in a square in central Chisinau, where he arranged a meeting with the victim. He took a specially adapted metallic bar with him to the meeting.
On February 7, the court issued an arrest warrant for 30 days for the suspect. He faces up to ten years in jail.
