A man aged 37 was struck by a freight train running on the Bălți-Fălești route while he was crossing the railroad and talking on the phone. It happened in the municipality of Bălți on June 24.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Florești Police Inspectorate Eugenia Molchanov said the call to 112 was made at about 11:30am. A police team travelled immediately to the scene. It was established that the man was crossing the railroad at the red traffic lights near the Bălți-Răutel station. He was talking on the phone.
The man suffered multiple traumas. An investigation is under way to establish all the circumstances of this case.
