An economic agent tried to introduce 1 tonnes of undeclared live fish into the country. A mobile team of the Customs Service detected the attempt to conceal fish in the second line of control, on the Anenii Noi-Causeni road, IPN reports.

The customs officers stopped for checks a truck that, according to the presented documents, was transporting 10 tonnes of live fish under import customs regime, destined for a resident economic agent. However, the thorough control revealed a surplus of two tonnes of live fish, compared to the officially declared quantity, the Customs Service said.

The hidden merchandise was seized and stored, and the economic agent is to be penalized and to pay the import duties for the discovered surplus.
