Man fined 25,000 lei for going after beer in breach of quarantine regime

The police in Ialoveni imposed fines totaling over 92,000 lei on private individuals who didn’t comply with authorities’ recommendations and violated the quarantine regime.

Silvia Vetcu, press officer of the Ialoveni Police Inspectorate has told IPN that the fined persons returned from abroad and were penalized for not obeying the COVID-19 prevention measures.

In a message on a social networking site, mayor of Țipala village of Ialoveni dustcart Silviu Bivol said that a man from the village, who recently returned from abroad ,was fined 25,000 lei for going to the shop to buy beer, which he later drank together with a man. As regards this case, Silvia Vetcu said the man was repeatedly warned to stay at home, but he intentionally violated the quarantine regime and was thus fined.

Also, a business entity running a shop in Ialoveni faces a fine of 50,000 to 75,000 lei for not closing the adjoining terrace, as it was requested.

The police urge the people to respect authorities’ recommendations and to report cases when people in quarantine disobey the rules on 112.
