A 35-year-old man died in a road accident in Magdacesti village of Criuleni district in the evening of June 6. The victim, who was from Rezina district, was crossing the street by a crosswalk. The driver was a 42-year-old man from Straseni.
Press officer of the Criuleni Police Inspectorate Diana Maxim has told IPN that the driver didn’t stop to help and drove away, but was shortly identified. He was questioned and is to be arrested for 72 hours today, June 7.
The medical-legal examination will show if the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Two criminal cases will be started against the man, over hit and run driving and over injuring that resulted in death.
