A man in his 50s was struck fatally by a car on Calea Orheiului St, at the entrance to Chisinau municipality, at 23.30 on July 6. The ambulance team that went to the scene could do nothing as the man was already dead. His identity hasn’t been yet established.
Head of the Chisinau Police Division’s press service Adrian Jovmir has told IPN that the man was crossing the street illegally. The driver of the car, aged 29, is from the municipality of Chisinau. He wasn’t inebriated. Other circumstances of the accident are yet to be determined.
If the driver is found guilty, he will serve three to seven years in jail.
