A 26 year old man was arrested by the border police under the accusation of stealing diesel fuel from a train depot in the town of Basarabeasca. The police suspect he stole the fuel in complicity with the engine drivers, IPN reports.
At 0.30 in the night, near the Basarabeasca border crossing post, the police stopped a minibus driven by the young man. After inspecting the vehicle, the officers found a container of approximately 1000 liters and two barrels of 20 liters each, all full of fuel. The young man was unable to present any papers of origin for the fuel.
The suspect is a resident of Basarabeasca. The minibus was taken to the Basarabeasca police HQ for further investigation.
