European integration is our way to safety and well-being, but we should not think of it as of a "business class ticket to paradise", said President Maia Sandu. According to the head of state, integration into the EU is not necessarily a miraculous solution to all Moldova's problems, IPN reports.

"The French will not come to do justice for us, the Danes will not come to collect our waste or the Germans will not come to manage our customs post. We are the masters and are responsible for our life, for our country," President Maia Sandu said at the ceremony where she was sworn in for the second presidential term.

The official noted that we must assume the path of transformations, to walk it quickly and without hesitation.

"Let's make a collective, committed, constant effort and not stumble over difficulties. We should not allow to be manipulated or influenced by propaganda. Changes occur with difficulty. We face resistance in the system. The justice sector reform, delayed for several decades, is thorny, affected by the annoyances and interests of real clans," noted the official.

Maia Sandu assured that the Government will continue to have, in her persons, a serious and dedicated partner, but also a harsh critic in case of poor performance.

"We started to free ourselves from energy dependence and, even if prices are still high, no one can keep us under the heel. We managed to open the door wide to the European Union, which is no small thing in terms of the country plan and project," concluded Maia Sandu.
