The PAS’ candidate for President Maia Sandu voted for order in the country, justice and wellbeing. “I voted for a state that will work for the people, will help the people, will create employment opportunities and well-paying jobs at home, for a state that would improve the living conditions in all the country’s localities. For this to happen, we must drive away corruption and incompetence from the presidential administration,” stated Maia Sandu, being quoted by IPN.
Maia Sandu called on the people to be vigilant and to report any witnessed violation or abuse. “I will today be near my mates from all over the country. We will attentively follow and monitor the developments,” stated the candidate.
She also gave a speech in Russian. When entering and leaving the polling place, Maia Sandu was supported by applause.
Maia Sandu also competed in the presidential elections of 2016. In the October 30 elections, she polled 38.71% of the vote. In the November 13 runoffs, she gained 47.89% of the vote.
