President Maia Sandu commented on the blackouts experienced by Moldova today. “Russia left Moldova in the darkness. Russia’s war in Ukraine kills people. It destroys with rockets apartment buildings and energy infrastructure. The strikes in Ukraine are going on. The people take the injured out of the debris and mourn for the dead relatives. The human lives cannot be restored, but the supply of electricity can be restored. We will solve the technical problems and will have electricity again. All the state institutions work for this purpose,” the official posted in social media following the power outages experienced across Moldova, IPN reports.

“We cannot trust a regime that leaves us in the darkness and in cold, which intentionally kills people out of the simple wish to keep other nations in poverty and humiliation. No matter how hard it is now, our only road, the future path of the Republic of Moldova, should remain that to the free world,” says Sandu’s message.

In a press release, the power distributor “Premier Energy” said that the supply of electricity failed on November 23, at 2:23pm, and the transmission and distribution system operators are working to restore the supply. “We ask the consumers to show understanding as this is not the fault of the distribution system operator and assure them that effort is being made to maintain the continuous supply of power,” runs the press release.
