The winner of the November 1 first round of voting Maia Sandu confirmed that she had a number of conversations with her opponents on November 2. Such discussions will be yet held so as to see how they can combine forces to free the country from Igor Dodon and to start to bring things in order,” stated Maia Sandu, being quoted by IPN.

“I thanked the leaders of these parties and the people of these parties for their support and invited them to discussions during the next few days. I hope they will devote time for discussions. Surely, more work needs to be done. We worked before the first round, but more arguments are needed, especially for those who chose to remain at home, who are in a way disappointed by the democratic processes in the Republic of Moldova. But we must persuade them that they can change things only this way,” Maia Sandu stated in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, noting they will make effort to achieve the common objectives.

Asked about Renato Usatyi’s assertion that he was phoned by her, Maia Sandu said she will have a meeting with the leader of the Our Party so as to see if she can bank on the voters of the mayor of Bălți.

“We consider the people who voted for Mister Usatyi are those who want changes alongside many other voters. Respectively, we will discuss this unity of the voters with Mister Usatyi,” stated the PAS leader.

As to her opponent in the runoff vote, Igor Dodon, Maia Sandu said he should make sure that the elections are free and fair.

“This is their responsibility. In last Sunday’s elections, we witnessed a number of situations that showed the government didn’t do its job. We notified the state institutions and filed over 300 complains and continue to insist that the government and the authorities should do their job and should not take sides with a candidate in these elections.”
