The incumbent president today has launched her re-election campaign under the slogan “Maia Sandu for Moldova”.

During the launch event held in the Opera Square, Sandu declared that her plan for Moldova is “very clear”, focusing on three national objectives: care for people, better living conditions and peace and good understanding.

“I know you came here today not just to support me, but for a reason much bigger than all of us. You came here today for our country. We are here because we are determined to build a better destiny for our country, because we are determined not to stand aside, because we want the families, the children, the elderly, the doctors, the teachers, the road workers, the engineers, the entrepreneurs, the civil servants, the military, the police officers to have a dignified life and freedom at home. Because we want to know that regardless of the profession our children will choose, they will be confident in their future, because we remain united despite the efforts to divide us, because we choose to work, not to stand apart. We choose hope instead of despair”, declared Maia Sandu.

The incumbent president declared that she will continue to encourage investments in the economy so that the minimum monthly salary reaches 10,000 lei, and the average salary 25,000 lei by 2030. She also intends to propose a minimum long-career pension of 3,000 lei, free meals for school students in grades 1 through 9, and a 3,000 lei monthly bonus for one year to every young person who takes up their first job in areas of strategic importance.

“We will prepare the country for joining the European Union by 2030”, added Sandu.

The electoral campaign for the presidential election and constitutional referendum has officially kicked off today. The four presidential candidates and ten referendum campaigners registered to date may officially engage in campaigning activities. Candidates whose submissions are still under examination will be able to launch their campaigns from the day of registration by the Central Electoral Commission.
