President Maia Sandu calls on all the citizens to cast their ballots in the snap parliamentary elections of July 11 so as to elect an upright and good government. “On Sunday, July 11, besides going to church relatives, matches, I ask you to step with responsibility on another important road - to the polling station, to our prosperous future. Go to the polls on July 11!”, urged the official, being quoted by IPN.

In a video posted on Facebook, Maia Sandu says that alongside the citizens, she has struggled against stealing during many years. “I also struggled on the street and opposed the attempts made by Plahotniuc to destroy the country. We resisted the intimidation and pressure. It was hard, but we didn’t lose hope. We continued the struggle and defeated an oligarchic regime. Last year we took one more step and removed one more corrupt person from power, but the thieves found refuge in other state bodies, primarily Parliament and the institutions controlled by this. From there, they continued to manage their dirty business, to gather ill-gotten gains and to give instructions to prosecutors and judges so that these protected them from the law,” said President Sandu.

As it was a long way up to here, it is everyone’s duty to go till the end and to rid the country of thieves. “Everyone should go and vote this Sunday so as to prevent the corrupt persons from controlling the next Parliament. The thieves are afraid we will have a Parliament of honest people as the power to bring things in the justice system in order is in Parliament. The country’s money for pensions, salaries, for villages and towns is divided in Parliament. It’s time to elect a Parliament that works and doesn’t steal. A Parliament with the clean face, with the fact of the several million good people of Moldova who live with dignity and decency, who care for the family and the country,” noted the official.

Today, July 9, is the last day of campaigning.
