The Prime Minister of Romania Marcel Ciolacu said that Maia Sandu is the only European and democratic solution for Moldova and Romania will help the neighboring country because “there are Romanians there, not something else,” IPN reports.
Present on Tuesday evening at Digi24, Marcel Ciolacu was asked about Russia’s latest threats against Moldovan President Maia Sandu, whose policy was compared by the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova with the policy of the Third Reich.
“There is no other democratic solution than Maia Sandu. As Mrs. Maia Sandu will also contend in an election, Romania will help the Republic of Moldova because there are Romanians in the Republic of Moldova, not something else. They are no longer Moldovans. There is no longer the Moldovan language. It is the Romanian language and they are Romanians (...) It is hard for dictator Putin to expand his front at this moment (...) It is a hybrid war. It is normal for such threats to exist, but there is also a military logic showing that there is an armed war in Ukraine, but in the Republic of Moldova there is a hybrid war,” Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu replied, being quoted by agerpres.ro.
