President Maia Sandu, who is running for a new term in office, said that both she and the citizens want a respected President, not a weak and controlled one. A President who is not silent when injustice is done in the country. A President who says clearly and openly what he/she believes. A President who does not tell lies and who is respected by everyone, in all countries. The candidate said that the risk of losing what was obtained with difficulty is very high, if the thieves return to power, IPN reports.

"Dear Moldovans, maybe you didn't go out to vote at all, maybe you voted for another candidate in the first round. I respect your choice. I want you to know that I will protect democracy with all my might, that is, your right and everyone's right to vote freely with whoever you want. I want you to know one thing – even if we have different opinions sometimes, even if you don't agree with everything I do, I and you too don't want thieves to come back to power," said the candidate of the Party of Action and Solidarity.

Maia Sandu admitted that it was not possible to completely stop vote buying, that justice is still weak and that a tougher fight against corruption is needed. "I assure you that I and you too want the fight against thieves to be carried out till the end. And let's not lose what we achieved with difficulty. The risk of losing what we have is very high, if the thieves return to power. Both I and you want Moldova to be respected, for there to be peace, order and good life at home," she said.

In the runoff presidential election on November 3, the PAS candidate, who won 42.45% of the vote in the first round, will compete with the candidate of the Party of Socialists Alexandr Stoianoglo, who obtained 25.98% of the poll in the first round.
