The Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) submitted the documents concerning the nomination of Maia Sandu as a candidate for President of the Republic of Moldova to the Central Election Commission, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, Maia Sandu said the PAS will take part in the upcoming campaign not in order to promote itself or take revenge on someone, but to triumph over stealing, poverty and injustice and to build a county for good people. “I strongly believe that things can be put right. This autumn, we have the chance to choose the good path, to open the door to the good people who can place Moldova on the path of justice and wellbeing, who can bring things in the country in order,” stated the politician.
Maia Sandu served as minister of education in 2012-2015 and as Prime Minister in June-November 2019.
The documents needed for registering the candidates for President can be filed to the CEC between September 2 and October 1, 2020.
